Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees meet four (4) times a year to discuss and decide on matters relating to the governance, strategy and finances of your Students' Union. The Board also come together to celebration events, away days and other activities to highlight, celebrate and showcase the Students' Union.

Jacqui Clements (Lay Trustee)

Jacqui has been a lay trustee for your SU since October 2019. They are the chair of the Board of Trustees in addition to being a member of the People and Culture Committee and Governance and Appointments Committee of the SU.

Akhil Sha (Officer Trustee)

Akhil is your Welfare Officer. They were elected by you in March 2023 and took up their role in July 2023. They were re-elected in February 2024 continuing as your Welfare Officer for another year. They are the co-chair of the Board of Trustees in addition to being a member of Finance and Audit and Appointments and Governance Sub-Committees.

Promise Owai (Officer Trustee)

Promise is your Education Officer. They were elected in February 2024 and took up their role in June 2024. They are a member of the Board of Trustees in addition to being a member of the Finance and Audit sub-committee as well as the chair of the Appointments and Governance sub-Committee.

Christopher Eban (Officer Trustee)

Christopher is your Activities Officer. They were elected in February 2024 and took up their role in June 2024. They are a member of the Board of Trustees in addition to being a member of the Commercial Services Board and the chair of the People and Culture Sub-Committee.

OduduAbasi Umo-Odiong (Officer Trustee)

Odudu is your Communities Officer. They were elected in February 2024 and took up their role in June 2024. They are a member of the Board of Trustees in addition to being a member of the Commercial Services Board and the People and Culture Sub-Committee.

James Hunt (Lay Trustee)

James has been a lay trustee for your SU since September 2020. They are a member of the Board of Trustees in addition to being the chair of the Finance and Audit Committee of the SU.

Jerry Robinson (Lay Trustee)

Jerry has been a lay trustee for your SU since April 2021. They are a member of the Board of Trustees in addition to being the chair of the Commercial Services Board of the SU.

Larry Coltman (University Nominated Trustee)

Larry has been a university nominated trustee for your SU since April 2021. They are a member of the Board of Trustees in addition to being a member of the Governance and Appointments Committee of the SU.

Furrkh Aslam (University Nominated Trustee)

Furrkh has been a university nominated trustee for your SU since September 2019. They are a member of the Board of Trustees in addition to being a member of the Universities Board of Governors.

Naomi Smith (Lay Trustee)

Naomi has been a lay trustee for your SU since November 2022. They are a member of the Board of Trustees.

Vacant Position (Student Trustee)

We are looking for two students to join the board as Student Trustees. Being a trustee means that you will fully engage and have voting rights on all matters covered by the Board. This includes the SU's finances, governance and strategy ensuring that the organisation is working for students.
