In September 2022, Coventry PGRs organised nationally to secure an increase in PhD stipends of 13%. Over a fifth of Coventry University PGRs signed an open letter to UKRI, asking them to increase stipends in line with inflation. In March 2023, Your SU adopted the ‘PGRs as Staff’ campaign to lobby for improved support for PGRs.
This Campaign aimed to see increased stipends for PGR's who were working as staff members during their research experience.
