About the Society
Coventry University Accounting & Finance Society (CUAFS) is a student-led society at Coventry University which aims to bridge the gap between academic studies and the professional world. Our activities prepare students for professional roles in the fields of accountancy, finance, and banking.
CUAFS was founded in 2011 as the Coventry University Accounting Society and underwent a major rebranding in 2013 in order to accommodate students from courses with an accountancy or finance background. We encourage and motivate members to actively participate and engage with a wider field including faculty, graduates, the university and people from the industry. CUAFS provides academic support to members of the society by mentoring and one-to-one sessions. We also provide members with an opportunity to develop highly valued transferable skills such as teamwork, communication, ethics, presentation skills and commercial awareness while promoting integration and fellowship among society members. We have also created a consulting arm of the society which will provide its clients with financial advisory, research and data analysis and representation services. Our clients primarily include other societies and organisations within the university. This innovative set-up provides us with a platform to function similar to a business enterprise.
Aims and Objectives 1) Prepare students for professional roles in the field of accountancy, finance and banking. 2) Encourage and motivate members to actively participate and engage with a wider channel involving faculty, graduates and people from the industry. 3) Provide members with an opportunity to develop highly valued transferable skills such as teamwork, communication, ethics, presentation skills and commercial awareness. 4) Promote integration and fellowship among society members. 5) Provide academic support to members of the society by mentoring and one-to-one sessions.
