Society of the Month
Every month we celebrate and promote a society that has put the effort to provide an exceptional experience to their members. Any students, staff and externals can nominate a society for society of the month.
Nominations are based on quality over quantity so consider what a society has done to achieve the award, how they have demonstrated the SU values and be clear on why they deserve to win society of the month.
End of year celebration
At the end of each academic year we facilitate awards ceremonies that individual committee members and societies are eligible to attend or nominate in. Details about these will be posted in February.
Digital Badges
When you demonstrate skills as a committee member, your SU staff may recommend you for a digital badge. Badges are visual representations that you have demonstrated a particular skill. Badges can be earned in a variety of ways such as attending events, completing administration, planning and development of your society.
We know you do more as a committee member in your own time so we’ve introduced a new form for you to be able to nominate yourself or another individual for a digital badge.
Society excellence awards
SU Societies are some of the most hard working and successful students on
campus and we want to acknowledge the great work they do and the time and
effort they put in running activities for other students.
We have created a Societies Excellence scheme that rewards standards, activities
and performance. We want our societies to be rewarded and attain bronze, silver
or gold standard.
Societies can nominate for an excellence award at any time in the academic year
and will be sent to the activities team for verification.
