A message from your Community Officer, Aparna, as she shares her experience and introduces you to our upcoming International Student Community Festival!
Hello Folks! ๐
I am Aparna Golla, your Community Officer. Transitioning from being an international student to a Sabbatical Officer is highly enriching. It boosts your professional network and enables personal development. It is challenging to understand the norms of a new country, its work ethics, the academic institution, and the examination style, all of which are quite different from what you might have experienced in your home country. However, dropping the hesitance and giving yourself time to accept the new methods, adopt the lifestyle, and remain authentic in your own way adds much more to your personal and professional growth. I challenged myself to stand for a full-time officer position to become the student voice and represent the students at different committees on the University board. I have immensely enjoyed being the community officer.
To celebrate the hard work and resilience of every international student on campus and to encourage each one of you, we are hosting a week of International Festival celebrations for the International Student Community. I welcome all students to take part in the cultural events, food festival, networking fair and more ๐
