We run our School Volunteering Programme, which complements our teacher training efforts by providing undergraduate students with practical, hands-on experience in local classrooms.

This programme offers students a valuable opportunity to observe and assist in real classroom settings, helping them build confidence and develop essential skills. Not only do students gain first-hand exposure to the demands and rewards of teaching, but local schools also benefit from the additional support, enhancing the learning experience for their pupils.

The programme supports our broader mission to boost student employability. Volunteering provides students with experience that stands out on their CVs, especially those pursuing a career in education. The skills they develop (such as communication, teamwork, and leadership) are highly transferable and sought after by employers.

Our team works closely with local schools to ensure a positive, mutually beneficial partnership. Feedback from both students and educators has been overwhelmingly positive, with teachers highlighting the significant contributions our volunteers make in the classroom.

As we look to the future, we are looking to continue growing this programme and improving the experience for both students and schools. By providing structured, hands-on opportunities, we are hoping to shape the next generation of educators and reinforcing our commitment to employability and community engagement. Students and staff members interested in learning more or collaborating on this initiative can contact the Skills team. Find out more about our current programme at our upcoming event.
