Coventry University Students’ Union is a charity dedicated to improving the experience of students at the Coventry University Group, operating across 7 campuses in Scarborough, London and Coventry.

We are looking to recruit a Central Operations and Governance Coordinator.

The Central Operations team sits centrally and supports the wide variety of departments at Your Students’ Union in delivering impactful services to our members. Your role will focus on the day-to-day coordination of operational support focusing on administration processes, preparation of resources and taking minutes for meetings.

Our ideal candidate will ideally have previous experience in a similar role, demonstrating a solid understanding of administrative functions and be able to work in fast paced environment responding to multiple (and often conflicting!) deadlines. You will need to be highly organised with strong interpersonal skills, enabling you to communicate clearly. You must have a high standard of written communication skills and embrace the use of new technology in the advancement of efficient administration processes.

Key duties

  • Responsible for the day-to-day coordination of the operational support to departments, including room booking systems, purchase requests, travel requests, organising hospitality and ordering supplies.
  • Using an online enquiry management system to manage internal enquiries in accordance to service level agreements and response times.
  • Organise, coordinate and administer meetings including making calendar bookings, compiling and distributing the agenda and taking the minutes.
  • Supporting staff with the set-up of relevant equipment for meetings and events, including IT/AV equipment, furniture and preparation of resources.
  • Support in the development and delivery of training for staff around central processes.

Working hours and Location

This post is a permanent role and the full-time contract is 37.5 hours per week. As an organisation, we have an agile working programme which supports staff working from home, however regular working each week is required in the Coventry Office (circa 4 days per week in the office) and flexibility to meet business need is required. 

We have a flexible approach and are open to applications from candidates that may require some variation to the contracted hours or hybrid arrangements (although this is not a fully remote role and a minimum of 30 hours / 4 days is required). Salary Details

The salary is £25,742 – £28,759 per annum.

It is usual to start at the bottom of the grade and will increase incrementally on an annual basis, however for a candidate with highly relevant previous experience an offer may be made within the grade range.

The salary advertised is the full time salary, if the role is taken on a reduced hour basis the salary (and holiday entitlement) will be calculated pro-rata accordingly.
